Rep. Paulsen Is But a Rumor in Bloomington

Privileged residents of a far western upscale lake community were treated to Republican Third District Congressman Erik Paulsen’s town hall meeting early Tuesday night (Sept 6). For residents of the eastern part of the district it was challenging to get to the meeting in rush hour traffic at such a remote location as a high school in Minnetrista (population 6,000).
Many residents of Bloomington, with a population 83,000, would welcome a visit from the all but invisible representative at one of our friendly venue’s, such as Creekside Community Center where seniors have pressing concerns about Social Security and Medicare. (Maybe he thinks they are a "Ponzi scheme" but who knows?) Other residents may wonder what Mr. Paulsen is doing to advance the fortunes of unemployed workers. His predecessor at least made an effort to hold a meeting at the Edina Community Center. We've seen his picture on campaign literature but wonder if he's just an illusion.

Why bother with TownHalling it out to Bloomington when you can virtually visit the Congressperson at his website. Click on "About Erik" http://paulsen.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=2&sectiontree= and he will TWICE recount his skills at teaming "with Governor Pawlenty to eliminate a $4.5 billion state budget deficit without raising taxes". (What he needs to do is give some poor constituent a job proofreading his webpages! Oh, but I forgot: Government doesn't create jobs - the "job-creators" do that!)
